Elementary School Learning in the Elementary School at St. Mary's Academy is cooperative, engaging, interactive and challenging. Designed to instill a love for learning, the program encourages students to express themselves in both traditional and imaginable ways. Students and teachers are mutually engaged in the student's total growth, be it physical, mental, social, spiritual or aesthetic.
Science and technology classes teach students to make connections between their own experiences and the world around them. Students further benefit from daily exposure to foreign language, physical education and the arts.
St. Mary's Academy's well-rounded curriculum addresses different learning styles by challenging students to make practical applications toward the exploration of new ideas and concepts. Hands-on learning in mathematics develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to become active, independent thinkers, while language arts instruction fosters a life-long love of literature and the written word. Teachers and parents work cooperatively to help develop age appropriate study and organizational skills.
