Physics Class Participates in Career Seminar

Representatives from St. Mary’s Academy construction team hosted a career seminar for students in Sr. Judith Therese’s Physics class. The seminar was moderated by Ms. Gina Diaz with HRE, Inc. consultants educational outreach program.

The panel consisted of Mr. Roy Carubba /  Carubba Engineering, Mr. Charles Ward / Rozas-Ward Architects,  Miss Dana Malone / Malone Electric, Ms. Megan Fuselier / Satterfield & Pontikes,  Ms. Emma Sanchez / Three Fold Consultants and Mr. Tony Ball / Satterfield & Pontikes.

The seminar began with a power point presentation showing the various phases of construction for the new school. Each person on the panel discussed his / her area of concentration ranging from architectural design on paper, engineering design, scheduling, electrical and project management oversight.

Students learned about the various occupations involved in construction including architecture, civil engineering, project management, scheduling, finance/accounting, and public relations.

Dana Malone,  a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, spoke about her chosen career path and remarked about how honored she is to be a part of this project. All of the presenters expressed their gratification for being a part of a project that will last for generations to come.
