ST. MARY’S ACADEMY SENIORS GAIN COMPETITIVE EDGE

THROUGH ETIQUETTE AND PROTOCOL SEMINAR

Knowing the proper protocol for a social or business function can be a little intimidating for some but not for the sixty-six members of St. Mary’s Academy’s senior class who participated in the school’s 5 th annual Social Savvy Day. Held recently at the Doubletree Hotel Canal Street, the event featured a full day of etiquette and protocol workshops on topics that included “Fine Dining,” “Effective Communication,” “Poise and Presentation,” and “Interviewing Techniques.”

“Today’s economy is becoming more and more competitive and demands a workforce that is both polished and professional,” said St. Mary’s Academy Development and Student Affairs director Lisa Ross who spearheaded the effort to incorporate social graces into the school’s curriculum. “You only get one time to make a first impression and programs such as our Social Savvy Day ensure that our students are equipped with the skills to enter any arena with grace, professionalism, and confidence.”
