Friday Night Round-up

A large turnout of Maryites and their dates showed up at the Sisters of the Holy Family Motherhouse. It was a great time of fun and fellowship.

Saturday - Scholarship Gala

Our 18 th Annual Scholarship Gala & “Cabaret Magic” was held in Nunemaker Hall at Loyola University. The Stars were definitely shinning for SMA. Our all star lineup featured, Grammy Award Winner Irma Thomas, Davell Crawford, Connie & Dwight Fitch, Philip Manuel, Sharon Martin, Charmaine Neville, The Pinettes Brass Band, Wanda Rouzan, Guitar Slim, Jr. and our special guest from New York City, Johnny Kemp.

The show was dedicated to musical genius and goodwill ambassador,

Wilson “Willie Tee” Turbinton” who was the first to say yes to our invitation to perform at our Scholarship Gala. Willie Tee passed away on September 11, 2007. His wife Marilyn Turbinton and daughter Racquel Turginton Bruno were there to receive an award

of appreciation in honor of their beloved.

Homecoming Mass & Banquet

“A family that prays together, stays together”

St. Leo The Great Catholic Church was overflowing with Maryites and Sisters of

the Holy Family on Sunday morning November 11 th. It was a very jubilant and prayerful experience.

Our mass was dedicated to the memory of Sr. Marie Francine who went home to be with the Lord earlier in the year.

After mass we all gathered at Xavier University for a wonderful meal, and a powerful keynote address delivered by Councilwoman Cynthia Willard-Lewis.

The entire homecoming weekend recharged our spirits, and ignited our hearts with love for our Alma Mater.
